About The Position

Decima International is seeking a driven and capable Construction Manager (Civil, Structural, Architectural) to support the development of multiple data center projects for a top technology client. This client-facing role requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, the ability to self-direct, client representation experience, and a solid foundation in project management fundamentals. Candidates must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently and across multiple regions. A strong background in data center development, design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements is a significant advantage. The role involves mentoring staff, forming long-term client relationships, and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposal writing, and contract negotiations. Requirements

  • 12+ years of construction management experience within mission-critical environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering, structural engineering, architectural engineering, project management, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of construction and CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) disciplines
  • Prior hyperscale data center development and construction experience
  • Solid working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, and building systems/components
  • Experience developing a wide range of reports for different audiences
  • Experience in client-facing roles
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complex construction programs and communicate progress clearly to both technical and executive audiences
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and accurately to any audience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Responsibilities

  • Be well-versed in modern project management techniques within complex, multi-functional organizations; possess an understanding of engineering, design, procurement and contracting, safety, construction, and commissioning
  • Establish strong relationships with clients and communicate effectively with both technical and management-level personnel
  • Manage assigned work from start to close-out, covering all aspects of project delivery to ensure timely and effective execution
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and report to management on progress, findings, and recommendations
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Prepare RFPs and support the contractor selection and contract award process
  • Work with contractors to establish CPM baseline schedules
  • Perform resource analyses to identify potential bottlenecks and resource constraints
  • Identify project risks, gaps, and opportunities; provide recommendations to stakeholders to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities
  • Facilitate, lead, and chair project meetings (including OAC meetings); maintain accurate meeting minutes and action items
  • Review and validate project progress, contractor pay applications, and invoices
  • Conduct financial and technical appraisals of project options; perform feasibility studies, site surveys, and liaise with designers, engineers, superintendents, and construction managers as needed
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to strategy, positioning, proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
