About The Position

We are seeking a Construction Manager / Construction Inspector to support the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies Phase 3B construction project in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. This effort completes the remaining punch-list and compliance items from a prior NCOTA Phase 3 construction contract, originally designed to deliver approximately 23,000 gravesites, supporting infrastructure, and improvements to administrative and maintenance facilities. The Construction Manager will work closely with VA Resident Engineers, Project Managers, Contractors, and Cemetery personnel in delivering professional construction management services consistent with the appearance standards and mission of national cemeteries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Science, or related field
  • Minimum two years of construction management, construction inspection, or owner's representative experience
  • OSHA 30 Certification (required)
  • Experience reviewing plans, specifications, submittals, and construction documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • Experience on federal, VA, military, municipal, or public works projects
  • Experience with civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and site construction disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily construction inspections and site observations
  • Document work progress, quality, safety conditions, and contractor performance
  • Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays
  • Review submittments, RFIs, samples, testing reports, and related project documentation
  • Maintain project records, field reports, photographs, and marked-up drawings
  • Attend project meetings and coordinate with government personnel and contractors
  • Support change order development and cost estimate reviews
  • Monitor OSHA safety compliance and construction best practices
  • Participate in commissioning, testing, punch-list reviews, and final inspections
  • Maintain accurate daily reports regarding manpower, equipment, weather, progress, and deficiencies
  • Support contract administration activities while serving as an advisor to the Government project team
