About The Position

R. R. Cassidy is hiring a Construction Intern in Beaumont, Texas. The intern supports project teams by helping maintain job schedules and ensuring job status updates are current and accurate. The role works directly with superintendents, project managers, and foremen, providing hands-on exposure to how utility construction projects are planned, tracked, and delivered.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or technical program in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or be a recent graduate.
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple schedules and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and comfort working with field leadership, including superintendents and foremen.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with scheduling or project tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Procore.
• Interest in the electric utility or heavy construction industry.
• Prior construction or field experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain crew, equipment, and material schedules in coordination with superintendents.
• Gather daily and weekly job status updates from superintendents and foremen and enter them into project tracking tools.
• Prepare progress reports on completed work, upcoming activities, delays, and safety items for project managers and leadership.
• Maintain project files, daily reports, drawings, and field documentation.
• Follow up with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to confirm deliveries and start dates.
• Support meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items.
• Visit job sites as directed to observe work, learn processes, and verify progress while following safety rules.
• Take on special projects and other duties as assigned.
