About The Position

Gain hands-on experience on active construction projects while working alongside Superintendents, Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers. ESI is licensed in 43 states, providing opportunities to gain experience across a variety of project locations, project types, and geographic markets. At ESI Construction, interns don't just observe the work, they become part of Team ESI and contribute to the success of real projects and business operations. You'll gain practical experience, develop technical and professional skills, and learn how successful projects are built. This internship is designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world construction experience while providing exposure to a variety of career paths within the construction industry. Many ESI interns return for additional internship experiences, and for some, the program serves as a pathway to full-time opportunities after graduation.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, emphasis in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be within two years, or less, of graduation.
  • Strong interest in building a career in construction, project management, and learning in a hands-on environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Represent ESI professionally with customers, design teams, city officials, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Assist with project planning, coordination, and execution during various phases of construction.
  • Support project documentation, including RFIs, submittmits, drawing updates, meeting minutes, and related records.
  • Assist with field operations and coordination of subcontractors and trade partners.
  • Participate in project meetings, jobsite walks, and project-related problem solving.
  • Gain exposure to bidding, project management, construction operations, project closeout, and warranty activities.
  • Contribute to the success of the project team through a variety of learning and support opportunities.
