About The Position

Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Construction Logistics Specialist to join our Facilities Sector in California. This role involves working on projects within the CTA, including Terminals, Landside areas (Parking Structures), and Airside areas (AOA Apron and Gates). The specialist will be responsible for Area Shutdown Request (ASR) compliance and execution across these locations. A key aspect of the role is establishing a collaborative relationship with Airport Operations Night Managers to ensure smooth operations during construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 20 years of Construction Management field experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Airport experience or 5 years of experience in other critical environment facilities.
  • Ability to assume additional responsibilities other than role outlined above.
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, priority setting, and completeness in job accomplishment.
  • Demonstrated planning, controlling, organizing and leadership skills in previous positions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Must be able to work under pressure on high-profile complicated assignments.
  • Ability to understand design and construction intent of projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project and Power Point.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Adobe software namely Acrobat and InDesign.
  • Able to review and edit documents in Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Nightly Huddle at 2330 hrs. with Airport Operations support.
  • Distribute the Roadway Bulletin, Terminal Bulletin & Daily Roadway Map to attendees of the Nightly Huddle.
  • Perform “Site Checks” at locations within the CTA, Terminals, and AOA with active construction during each shift.
  • Check the number of personnel deployed.
  • Verify that the correct ASR is “in hand” with the Project Superintendent and posted on the dash of all vehicles.
  • Verify the correct barricading and signage is in place per approved ASR.
  • Verify all scheduled deliveries are contained within the approved ASR and coordinated at Nightly Huddle.
  • Communicate with Safety and Inspection team regarding compliance of scheduled work.
  • Contact LAWA Airport Police and Airport Operations to remove vehicles or equipment parked curbside without correct paperwork (Approved ASR) or a “No Cite / No Tow” order.
  • Take photos of each deployed project working in the CTA, Terminals, and AOA locations, capturing vehicle/equipment deployment, active construction, traffic/passenger movement, and barricades/signage.
  • Label photos with relevant information such as description and date/time stamp.
  • Produce a Nightly Report with a written narrative and photographic component, including personnel count, late flight information, and other relevant documents for each deployed project.
  • Post Nightly Reports to the CALMSHARE site, save on the V Drive, and distribute to a predetermined stakeholder list.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and schedule for all projects (LAWA CIP, Maintenance, Airline, Concessionaire, TSA, etc.) active within the CTA, Terminals, and AOA locations.
  • Act as the responsible party to ensure all construction in public areas has appropriate barricades and signage as per the approved ASR.
  • Work with the contractor to correct deficiencies and report them to the CALM Sign Shop Manager if additional signage is required.
  • Work with The Development Group (TDG) Element representatives, Facilities Maintenance Group (FMUG), Airport Operations (OPS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Information Technology Group (IMTG), TDG Safety/Inspections, and LAWA Airport Police Traffic Officers to develop protocols for orderly shutdowns with minimum disruption.
  • Meet regularly with the CALM Area Resident Manager – Lead and make recommendations concerning procedures, protocols, and staffing.
  • Develop appropriate tracking and record keeping tools.
