About The Position

Our law firm is positioned as Florida's Premier Residential Construction Law Firm for Homeowners. This is a niche within the construction law niche that we are currently dominating through value-added services and creative solutions (not just hourly rates). We help homeowners before, during, and after their custom home builds and major home renovation projects. We provide advice, guidance, and contract drafting services to homeowners before projects. We provide ongoing advice and guidance as a Renovation Concierge during projects. We also provide these services for HOAs and Condominium Associations. We provide pre-litigation and litigation services for homeowners, associations, and a select group of contractors. The role involves confidently providing legal advice and guidance to homeowners, contractors, HOAs, and Condo Associations regarding their ongoing construction projects; actively litigating cases; handling depositions; attending court hearings; engaging in discovery; and handling all phases of pre-trial litigation. This position can be filled by a Florida-licensed attorney working anywhere and promises to be extremely rewarding. The ability to generate clients within the firm’s niche will be rewarded and will allow you to earn considerably more money.

Requirements

Florida-licensed attorney
3+ years of experience litigating construction matters
Experienced in handling disputes among owners, contractors, and subcontractors
Client-service-oriented
Working knowledge of Florida's Construction Lien Law
Results-oriented and focused on obtaining positive outcomes for clients
Understands how to properly delegate to paralegals and other support professionals
Empathetic yet can have tough conversations with clients
Strong negotiator
Savvy with technology and AI
Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail while handling an increasing volume of work
Writes clearly and concisely
Communicates in a way that instills confidence in clients

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Providing legal advice and guidance to homeowners, contractors, HOAs, and Condo Associations on issues common to major construction and renovation projects, including issues relating to payments, timing, and quality of work.
Actively litigating cases.
Handling depositions.
Attending court hearings.
Engaging in discovery.
Handling all phases of pre-trial litigation.
Resolving clients’ issues as promptly and efficiently as possible.
Negotiating with opposing parties or their attorneys to resolve ongoing construction disputes.
Solving problems.
Supporting more senior attorneys with complex litigation matters.
