As a Construction Laborer, you’ll be an integral part of our projects, helping with a variety of tasks including site preparation, landscaping, and general labor, on active restoration sites across your region. That may include wetlands, streambanks, prairies, or stormwater facilities. You’ll work alongside a skilled crew, contributing to projects that make a tangible impact. This position requires weekly travel throughout the Southeast, with overnight stays typically occurring Monday through Friday based on project location.

Requirements

  • Experience installing erosion and sediment control measures on stream restoration, stormwater, utility, or heavy civil construction projects
  • Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment
  • Quick learner with the ability to take on new tasks effectively
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed work specifications
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools or landscape equipment
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in landscaping, construction, farming, or outdoor labor
  • Understanding of erosion and sediment control guidelines
  • Basic Knowledge of traffic control procedures

Responsibilities

  • Site preparation
  • Landscaping
  • General labor on active restoration sites (wetlands, streambanks, prairies, or stormwater facilities)
  • Reviewing detailed work specifications and plans
  • Conducting safety checks on tools and equipment
  • Operating a variety of tools, including power tools (drills, circular saws) and landscape equipment (chainsaws, weed eaters)
  • Implementing erosion and sediment control measures
  • Seeding, mulching, and matting
  • Assisting in setting up and maintaining traffic control systems
  • Set-up and maintenance of bypass water pumping & work area dewatering
  • Cleaning and storing tools and equipment
  • Reviewing completed tasks with supervisor
