About The Position

Construction Interns will assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in project planning, buyout, project management, and closeout. This role will involve assisting in obtaining, coordinating and distributing the information and authorizations required to construct the project on time, within budget and to the Landmark’s quality standards.

Requirements

  • Seeking a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science or Architecture preferred.
  • 1+ year of applicable coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about Landmark processes and procedures as they relate to managing the project.
  • Learn about Landmark safety and quality management programs and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Assist in managing the project budget by controlling expenditures, coordinating billings, and identifying work not covered by subcontractors.
  • Learn how to maintain RFI logs and change request logs.
  • Assist in ensuring the overall success of costs and schedule.
  • Review and process submittal data and shop drawings.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, deliveries, and inspections, along with analyzing how they affect the project schedule.
  • Complete daily logs, status reports, and weekly subcontractor meeting minutes.
  • Assist with change requests and change proposals for price reviews.
  • Document and take progress photos of the job site.
  • Assist in resolving punch-list issues prior to occupancy.
  • Assist in obtaining occupancy of the project.
  • Maintain closeout log and obtain all closeout documents, warranties, and log information.
  • Obtain Certificate of Substantial Completion.
  • Assemble and prepare final record documents for the project at the conclusion of the job and store them in a secure location.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Maintain the highest possible professionalism at all times and promote good relations and communications on the project.
  • Recognize, report, and solve problems in a creative, positive, constructive way and make recommendations for improvements in systems, procedures, and policies.
