About The Position
The Construction Intern works in a fast-moving construction business and gains exposure to a variety of construction management areas while contributing to project work. The Tepa Companies 2027 Intern Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity. Depending on workload and school schedule, the position will work approximately 40 hours per week at Sacramento-area project sites. The listed pay range is $21.00–$25.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or another related field from an accredited program.
- Be within two years of graduation; rising junior or rising senior.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
- Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Assist with field execution support for construction projects.
- Assist with estimating, scheduling, developing bid packages, issuing RFIs, and coordinating submittals.
- Observe and supervise construction activities.
- Assist with project closeout activities.
- Learn about support for field staff.
- Interact with design professionals and construction management teams.
- Assist with tracking and forecasting project budgets.
- Assist with safety enforcement.
- Organize and attend project meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
