About The Position

EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is in search of Construction Inspectors to join our Anne Arundel County pavement team! In your role as a Construction Inspector, your primary duties will include conducting thorough inspections of construction sites, including roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities, to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards. You will document and report any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections. You will collaborate with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements. You will also assist with the review and interpretation of construction plans, special provisions, and technical documents. Maintaining clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes, learning and applying industry-specific software and tools for inspection and documentation, participating in team meetings and safety briefings to foster a safe, collaborative work environment, and communicating effectively with contractors, project stakeholders, and other team members to address construction-related concerns and provide guidance are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • 3-10 years of experience
  • A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • MD SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager certification
  • Maryland Department of Environment Responsible Personnel certification
  • OSHA 10 Construction Safety Training
  • Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, and Pavement Marking certifications
  • Proficiency with eConstruction applications, such as Fulcrum
  • Proficiency in math and English
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to walk over rough and uneven terrain; stand for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and terrains
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug testing.
