Construction General Laborer (Pre-Apprentice) - Shop
About The Position
MUZA Sheet Metal is hiring a Construction General Laborer / Pre-Apprentice to support its shop and field teams. No experience is required; training and tools are provided. The role offers the opportunity to transition into the company’s Apprenticeship Program. The position assists sheet metal journeymen and apprentices with shop and jobsite work, including fabricating and installing sheet metal products, maintaining work areas, and supporting building maintenance. It is full-time, in person, with an expected 40-hour workweek and an 8-hour Monday-to-Friday schedule. Pay starts at $19.37 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or HSED, required for the apprenticeship.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic and attendance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
Nice To Haves
- Sheet metal experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist sheet metal journeymen and apprentices with daily duties in the shop and on jobsites.
- Assemble and fabricate flashing, panels, and ductwork.
- Clean and perform daily maintenance of the shop and jobsites.
- Use power tools and hand tools daily.
- Install exterior sheet metal on new construction projects.
- Assist with building maintenance.
- Cut, measure, bend, and assemble sheet metal.
- Assist with shop fabrication and field installations at job sites.
