About The Position

The Estimator will report directly to the Chief Estimator and serve as a key contributor within both the estimating and business development teams. This role supports the preparation of accurate take‑offs and competitive bid proposals for large‑scale projects. Success in this position relies heavily on strong site/earthwork knowledge, a solid work ethic, cultural alignment, a positive attitude, and a collaborative mindset. The Estimator will participate in all phases of the bidding process, including plan take‑offs, vendor quote solicitation, quantity calculations, specification review, pricing development, RFI tracking, and value‑engineering recommendations. This role is ideal for someone seeking growth within a dynamic and expanding organization.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of construction take‑off procedures and estimating principles.
  • Familiarity with quality, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and a clear understanding of core estimating duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Prior field experience with a site development contractor.
  • Experience with AGTEK, Bluebeam, and WorksManager.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate intermediate‑level knowledge of commercial site development and earthwork, with the ability to efficiently read and interpret site/civil drawings.
  • Leverage prior field experience with a site development contractor (highly beneficial).
  • Utilize AGTEK or similar earthwork take‑off software to support estimating activities.
  • Assist superintendents and foremen with GPS‑related issues both onsite and remotely.
  • Manage initial project setup, including equipment calibration and model import.
  • Support configuration of new devices and data collectors within WorksManager.
  • Collaborate with field personnel to ensure proper use of GPS systems for layout.
  • Produce accurate cut sheets and as‑built documentation.
  • Perform bid take‑offs using AGTEK and Bluebeam.
  • Solicit and organize quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
