About The Position

Skillforce has teamed up with a leading commercial fence company to hire a Construction Estimator for commercial projects, based out of its Chantilly, Virginia office. This is a full-time position. The estimator reviews project requirements, analyzes plans and specifications, prepares cost estimates and proposals, and communicates with clients throughout the bidding process. Salesforce is used to track projects, client records, bids, documents, and communications. Compensation varies by experience and commission structure. New college graduates may receive a $60,000 base salary plus commission; more experienced candidates may receive an $80,000 base salary plus commission. Typical average earnings are around $100,000 after the first year and $120,000–$150,000 thereafter. Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in estimating, project coordination, construction administration, or a related role.
Ability to read and interpret building plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Experience preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates and project proposals.
Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM/project management software for tracking projects, client communications, and bid activity.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen that includes marijuana testing.

Nice To Haves

Construction industry experience is preferred.
Commercial construction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Review project scopes of work to understand client requirements, timelines, and deliverables before preparing estimates and proposals.
Analyze building plans, drawings, and specifications to identify material requirements, labor needs, potential project challenges, and cost impacts.
Prepare detailed cost estimates and comprehensive proposals covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
Communicate with clients during the bidding process, respond to questions, clarify project details, and maintain professional relationships.
Use Salesforce to manage project tracking, client records, bid status, project documentation, and communication history.
