About The Position

Under general supervision, the Construction Estimator coordinates and administers activities related to reviewing contractor quotations or preparing itemized cost estimates for facilities renovation, repair, and construction. The position also performs internal design reviews, addresses estimate questions and concerns from Institutional Departments, and carries out other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret applicable plans, schematics, blueprints, and maps.
• Ability to manage competing demands in a changing work environment and anticipate and work around delays or unexpected events.
• Ability to multitask and maintain productivity under extreme pressure while meeting deadlines accurately and efficiently.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
• High school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Prepare itemized cost estimates for renovation and infrastructure construction projects based on proposed project scopes.
• Prepare construction change order documents during the construction phase, including descriptions and cost information for proposed changes.
• Perform internal design reviews before construction documents are completed.
• Review and address final estimate questions or concerns from Institutional Departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
