About The Position

We are a small, family-run well-drilling and water systems company serving residential and agricultural customers throughout Lancaster County and surrounding areas. Our work includes drilling water and geothermal wells and installing and servicing well-pressure systems, all within a laid-back, team-focused environment with strong employee retention. This is a full-time position, approximately 50 hours per week, offering a balance between field work and office tasks. The role involves evaluating job sites, preparing accurate estimates for water well drilling projects, and coordinating the entire process from proposal to permit.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment experience required
  • Estimating experience preferred
  • Water well drilling experience preferred
  • Experience with heavy equipment and drilling equipment
  • Understand heavy equipment and drilling equipment, site access, and ground conditions, and can evaluate what it will take to complete the job.
  • Comfortable working alone in the field and making practical decisions on-site.
  • Keeps site notes, pricing details, permits, and job information accurate and organized.
  • Communicates clearly with homeowners, farmers, and crew members.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and walking uneven job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Estimating experience preferred
  • Water well drilling experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites (within roughly a 100-mile radius) to assess terrain, access, and drilling conditions.
  • Prepare accurate water well drilling estimates and support construction estimating efforts based on site conditions and company pricing.
  • Schedule projects with customers and coordinate timing with drilling crews.
  • Secure drilling permits and submit PA One Call notifications before excavation begins.
  • Communicate clearly with residential and agricultural customers throughout the estimating process.
  • Work closely with operators and crews to confirm scope, equipment needs, and job details.
  • Keep estimates, permits, and project documentation organized using basic computer systems.
