About The Position

As the Construction Estimator III, you will analyze all project documents to determine and prepare the estimated cost of a project. You will prepare material quantity takeoffs for the Preconstruction Services Manager to execute a competitive bid and work in a team environment with other estimators to support offices across the U.S. You will collaborate closely with Preconstruction Services and Project Management teams. Your top priority is to ensure your project is completed safely, accurately, on time and at (or under) budget. You will conduct estimating on a day-to-day basis, contribute to project results by executing the estimating process with few errors, and participate in and drive takeoff efficiency through the use of 3D technology. You will also partner with Preconstruction Services Managers and vendors to create accurate and on-time bids.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-year degree in Engineering, Technology or similar field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of related estimating experience required
  • Construction experience required
  • Advanced skills in Excel and technical expertise

Nice To Haves

  • Building façade experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct estimating on a day-to-day basis

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, advanced knowledge in reading blueprints and understanding of specification documents, working knowledge of 3D modeling and estimating software such as Bluebeam. Skilled in using scales and scientific calculators, mechanical aptitude for understanding construction methods.
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Collect all relevant information and data needed to address problems and provide solutions
  • Monitor and check work or information and organize time and resources efficiently
  • Demonstrate efficiency and quality in work
  • Consistently meet or exceed deadlines and follow through on commitments
