About The Position

Cleveland Brothers Caterpillar is seeking a skilled shop technician to perform diesel engine and mechanical repairs on diesel engines, construction equipment, and supporting equipment. The role serves customers in the mining, construction, and paving industries. The company provides training and specialty tools. The position is safety-sensitive and involves working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, potential injuries, and atmospheric conditions. Overtime may be required as needed.

Requirements

Relevant working experience; experience from technical school, military service, or employment may be considered.
Previous experience working on heavy equipment.
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics.
Intermediate computer skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Physical ability and stamina for sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
Good motor coordination, including coordination of eyes, hands, and feet.
Ability to listen and speak, and verbal and numerical intelligence.

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose and repair equipment.
Overhaul engines and other major components.
Operate and maintain earthmoving and construction equipment.
Communicate and problem-solve with customers while supporting customer satisfaction.
