About The Position
Story Construction is seeking Construction Management Interns for their summer 2026 internship program. Interns will be assigned a jobsite and mentor, participate in orientation, create a learning plan, lead site tours, and present lessons learned to senior leadership. The internship offers exposure to commercial construction through a field-focus, project engineer-focus, or a hybrid approach, tailored to the intern's experience level. The field focus involves working with crews on steel erection, concrete, and carpentry, with mentorship from a project engineer. The hybrid focus splits time between field work and project management tasks, involving project planning and the project management process. The project engineer focus is primarily with the project management team in the jobsite trailer, learning about project planning, document control, RFIs, submittals, and Procore, preparing interns for a future career as a Project Engineer.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program studying construction engineering, construction management, civil engineering, industrial engineering, industrial technology, agricultural engineering, building trades, or similar.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions.
- Must be able to climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue.
- Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards and help others do the same.
- Must pass a drug test.

- Some construction experience (for hybrid role).
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a crew to learn about steel erection, concrete, and carpentry.

- Participate in a day-long orientation.
- Create an individualized learning plan.
- Attend and lead site tours.
- Present lessons learned to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Work alongside the project management team (project engineer, superintendent).
- Learn about project planning and document control through processes such as requests for information (RFIs) and submittals.
- Gain experience with Procore and other project management tools.
