About The Position

Arcadis is currently seeking a Construction Engineering Intern to provide support on places infrastructure projects. This position will be based in Los Angeles, CA and will require regional wide travel. You will be responsible for assisting in managing significant construction projects, construction planning and field support. This position requires the ability to work independently, comfortable in a construction environment, and willingness to be in the field. The role sits within our global business area Places Infrastructure group. This is an opportunity for a dynamic candidate looking for career growth in construction services. In this role, the candidate will assist with managing day-to-day activities on large construction/remediation projects. This includes project planning and costing, professional interaction with clients, preparing field reports, and communicating staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related science discipline.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable in a construction environment.
  • Willingness to be in the field.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience with field engineering, construction management, and construction oversight

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing day-to-day activities on large construction/remediation projects.
  • Project planning and costing.
  • Professional interaction with clients.
  • Preparing field reports.
  • Communicating staffing needs.
  • Managing and updating construction schedules.
  • Tracking field costs and material volumes.
  • Preparing Daily, Weekly, Monthly Field Reports.
  • Working with and directing subcontractors and other contractors.
  • Promoting and tracking safety performance.
  • Conducting tailgate safety meetings.
