About The Position

Marshall Dennehey, P.C., an Am Law 200 civil defense firm with more than sixty years of service, is seeking an experienced construction defect attorney to join its Tampa office at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex construction cases for Fortune 500 clients in a collaborative and supportive environment.

This hands-on role is for an experienced construction defect litigator comfortable navigating Florida’s Chapter 558 process. Attorneys in the group aggressively defend architects, engineers, surveyors, trade contractors, and general contractors in matters involving industrial, commercial, and residential projects. The attorney will manage matters from inception through resolution with firm support, substantial autonomy, and the opportunity to exercise professional judgment.

Attorneys work independently on assigned matters while collaborating closely with colleagues and may assist in mentoring junior attorneys. Requirements

• Five to ten years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience as a construction defect litigator.
• Comfort navigating Florida’s Chapter 558 process.
• Strong judgment, organization, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate liability and damages.
• Prepare detailed client reports.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue substantive and dispositive motions.
• Manage all aspects of high-exposure construction litigation up to and including trial.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues.
• May assist in mentoring junior attorneys.
