About The Position

TKDA is hiring Construction Coordinators, also referred to as Radio Car Operators, to support commercial airfield construction at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP). The role supports construction, scheduled maintenance, and material deliveries by monitoring vehicle activity and escorting vehicles that need airfield access. It coordinates movement and closure activities with air traffic control, contractors, and airport tenants, and monitors construction and airfield operations for security and compliance with construction safety plans. The position may also assist with inspections of runways, taxiways, lighting, perimeter security, and safety areas, and provide assistance to airport security and emergency services during severe weather or potential airport emergencies. The work is closely integrated with construction operations and is seasonal in nature. Most applicable working hours occur during the peak construction season, April through November, at approximately 40–50 hours per week. Safety training and pre-construction planning and reviews take place intermittently on an as-needed basis during the off-peak season. The role requires flexibility to work day and evening shifts and occasional weekends and holidays during the peak season. Candidates must pass required pre-employment background and aviation security screening and maintain any required state or federal approvals as an ongoing condition of employment.
