About The Position

Alyeska Builders is seeking motivated individuals to learn the carpentry trade and build a long-term career in construction. This apprenticeship program offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop valuable skills. While previous carpentry experience is not required, a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are essential. Apprentices will work alongside experienced professionals on various projects, gaining exposure to different aspects of construction.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Willingness to learn and accept instruction
  • Positive attitude and team-first mentality
  • Interest in developing professional carpentry skills
  • Desire to build a long-term career in construction
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Complete OSHA-10 certification before employment (company-provided if needed).
  • Complete one company-approved continuing education course every six months (provided by the company and completed on your own time).
  • Report any driving violations that may affect employment responsibilities.

  • Previous construction experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in various carpentry tasks including rough carpentry, framing, roofing, window and door installation, siding, and structural carpentry.
  • Develop skills in finish carpentry, including flooring, interior trim, interior doors, cabinets, and specialty finishes.
  • Learn drywall installation, including hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing.
  • Acquire experience in concrete work, including foundations, flatwork, decorative concrete, formwork, finishing, and epoxy coatings.
  • Participate in dirt work and operating crew tasks such as excavation, site preparation, trenching, grading, and equipment operation (skid steer, excavator, loader).
  • Assist with backfill and compaction, and road and pad building.
  • Work towards becoming a Journeyman Carpenter.
  • Take on greater responsibility as skills develop.
  • Participate in company-provided continuing education courses.
