About The Position

This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and providing construction cost estimates for natural gas projects. The role involves developing and communicating construction scope of work documents, determining and executing appropriate compensation structures or contract types, and initiating and administering the process of soliciting, evaluating, and recommending external bids. The Construction Analyst will determine, coordinate, and communicate contractor resource assignments, and coordinate, schedule, and monitor construction activities. This role requires monitoring and communicating project status, acting as a liaison between Gas Engineering and Construction Management and other organizations to ensure timely project completion, and serving as a liaison between affected departments and divisions regarding construction contractor issues. The analyst will also determine and ensure all contractors meet regulatory and business requirements, analyze workload to forecast construction activities and manpower needs, and provide timely information on construction project status, including scope, resources, completion percentage, and projected schedule. The position involves initiating and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders through project construction meetings, developing and providing reports on construction activities, and maintaining current knowledge of external resource availability and skill sets. Additionally, the role requires performing activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies, and completing and maintaining accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Associates degree with a minimum of four years of construction and/or construction project management experience or related field.
  • A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) plus a minimum of six years construction and/or construction project management experience or related field.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Proficient personal computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell.
  • As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.
