About The Position

Procon is seeking a Construction Administrator for a long-term opportunity in Perry Point, MD. This role will support staff in the management of a construction project, specifically within federal healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in administrative support for the construction of medical centers and familiarity with Veterans Affairs (VA) projects is preferred. This position requires a working knowledge of construction practices and the ability to implement plans related to Quality Assurance, Safety, Time, Cost, Change, and Information Management. Familiarity with site operations of General and Sub-contractors and managing building construction operations is also necessary. Strong communication, language, and software skills are essential for utilizing various programs to monitor, update, and produce work products.

Requirements

  • Experience in administrative support for the construction of medical centers (hospitals, etc.) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or evidence of work experience or knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of construction work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for accountability.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices and the ability to call upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project. This includes Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change, and Information Management.
  • Familiarity with the site operations of a General and Sub-contractor and the process of managing a building construction operation.
  • Communication, Language, and Software Skills, with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products.

  • Experience working with Veterans Affairs (the VA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction for Quality Assurance and prepare, analyze, and identify incongruities and deficiencies in contractor's work in relation to construction documents.
  • Understand the baseline schedule and assist in determining the value of acceptable work in place.
  • Provide professional and technical consultative assistance related to operations, renovation, and new construction programs supporting EHRM.
  • Receive, review, organize, transmit, file, or arrange delivery of records, correspondence, technical documentation, samples, packages, etc., to ensure timely action by construction managers, contractors, or other key project stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain control logs, prepare data in prescribed format, and prepare necessary forms and working files essential to operations.
  • Track construction modifications, contractor requests for clarification, and material submittals for assigned projects.
  • Track purchases and shipping receipts and prepare necessary web-based purchase tracking reports for submission.
  • Arrange meetings or conferences, including locations, schedules, agendas, reservations, and attendance lists.
  • Download, rename, and copy project submittals and requests for information (RFI) from Resident Management System (RMS) to VA and Activation servers.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and other tracking tools for Ball in Court tracking of tasks between CFM, VAMC, USACE, and others.
