About The Position

Join a growing electrical and low-voltage contractor specializing in building automation systems, structured cabling, and integrated technology solutions. We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the general ledger team, oversee full-cycle accounting operations, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with strong construction accounting experience who enjoys improving processes, developing teams, and partnering with leadership to drive business success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • 5+ years of Accounting Manager experience within a construction environment
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger and full-cycle accounting
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Construction accounting expertise, including project accounting and job costing
  • Experience with AP, AR, and cash management processes
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting external audits
  • Excellent communication and team management abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista ERP
  • Background in electrical contracting, construction, or related industries
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives
  • Building automation, building management systems, or structured cabling industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the general ledger team and oversee full-cycle accounting operations
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and consolidations
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and perform variance analysis
  • Support external audits and coordinate requested documentation
  • Analyze financial data and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Collaborate with finance leadership on strategic initiatives and reporting needs
  • Drive process improvements and workflow efficiencies
  • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Support hiring, training, and performance management activities
  • Assist with special projects, system enhancements, and operational improvements
