About The Position

As a Construction Accountant at Thompson Thrift, you’ll manage critical financial processes for assigned construction projects, supporting accurate subcontractor payments, project billings, and financial reporting. Requirements

• High school diploma required
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in financial reporting and mathematical calculations
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Collaborative approach to working with construction project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, review, and process financial activity for assigned construction projects in accordance with accounting principles and company standards
• Collect, review, and process subcontractor pay applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Prepare and submit monthly construction project billings with all required supporting documentation
• Partner with project teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of project payables and receivables throughout the project lifecycle
• Communicate with subcontractors to provide guidance and ensure adherence to company accounting procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and resolve potential issues
• Support accurate financial reporting and cost management across assigned construction projects
