About The Position

The Conflict of Interest Program Coordinator implements and coordinates the Institutional Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment Program in accordance with the Board of Trustees and the Alabama State Ethics Laws. Creates and manages management plan templates and supporting guidance documentation related to assigned areas. Coordinates with compliance leadership to determine appropriate auditable controls for management plans. Develops guides and job aids to help identify and categorize possible conflicts. Assists with training the campus population regarding conflicts of interest related to assigned areas. Collaborates with campus partners to create management plans for assigned areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Some compliance experience
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance management systems
  • Regulatory knowledge
  • Ability to interpret regulations and assess institutional compliance
  • Problem-solving and risk assessment skills
  • Understanding of data privacy laws
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish priorities
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people
  • Basic knowledge of the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs)
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, legal studies, education, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of compliance experience
  • Master's degree and some compliance experience
