About The Position

UTHealth Houston is seeking a detail-oriented research compliance professional to support compliance activities related to conflicts of interest, conflicts of commitment, and research security. The Coordinator will assist with the disclosure and assessment process, including intake, tracking, preliminary review, documentation, committee support, management plan coordination, research security assessments, training logistics, and electronic system support. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, collaborative, and comfortable working with faculty and staff to support timely, consistent, and well-documented compliance reviews. This role will mainly be remote, but does come on-site about once a quarter. It is full-time and eligible for all benefits.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Work may involve handling biohazardous, chemical, and radiological materials, as well as operating associated equipment. Required safety training and appropriate engineering and administrative controls, including the use of personal protective equipment, must be followed.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2 years of experience in compliance, research compliance, research, or University administration is required.
  • Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) by Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) preferred
  • Experience in a Conflict of Interest program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for the Conflict of Interest (COI) process, including assisting with disclosure intake, tracking, and documentation.
  • Under supervision, supports the COI Committees by helping with meeting logistics, preparing materials, meeting minutes, and maintaining records.
  • Assists with day-to-day operational tasks such as reviewing disclosures, drafting management plans, and routing for review and approval.
  • Maintains the electronic COI system by performing basic data entry, responding to user questions, assisting faculty and staff with navigation, and escalating issues to senior staff as needed.
  • Provides logistical assistance for training sessions, including scheduling, preparing materials, and tracking attendance.
  • Responds to inquiries from faculty and staff regarding COI policies and procedures, referring complex questions to senior staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
