About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Configuration Analyst to support the NSWC Crane Hypersonic Systems Engineering Team. The role assists with developing and implementing Configuration Management (CM) processes, authoring documentation and policy, and applying CM best practices for a hypersonic developmental program as configuration responsibility transitions from the Lead Systems Integrator to the Government. The candidate will assist the Crane CPS CM lead in shaping the program’s CM strategy, including processes for the CPS Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) test environment, in a rapid development environment. The role supports preparation for weapon system sustainment requirements, technical and data-driven solutions, and evaluation and recommendation of engineering, CM, and Data Management (DM) tools. The candidate will apply CM practices to evolving technical baselines and ensure configuration items are correct, complete, and consistent with technical and programmatic requirements. The position involves substantial interaction with Government National Team stakeholders, including government, Prime Contractor, and National Labs participants, and with cross-functional government and contractor working groups. The candidate tracks system development, product design changes, and effects on the overall system; supports configuration identification and change processing and documentation; facilitates change review boards; helps structure and maintain databases; and generates configuration status reports and configuration verification audit records. The role also includes conducting Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), establishing and maintaining Functional, Allocated, and Product baselines for assigned systems and subsystems, and coordinating with logistics, engineering, and program management teams so configuration changes are reflected in technical data packages (TDPs). The position must be based in Crane, Indiana; Huntsville, Alabama; or Washington, DC. It requires regular access to classified information and allows a hybrid schedule with some telework when the candidate is not needed at the customer site.
