About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Configuration Analyst to support the NSWC Crane Hypersonic Systems Engineering Team in developing and implementing configuration management (CM) processes, authoring documentation and policy, and applying CM best practices for a hypersonic developmental program. The program is establishing formal processes as configuration responsibility transitions from the Lead Systems Integrator to the Government. The analyst will help develop strategic CM approaches, including for the CPS Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) test environment, in a rapid development setting, and support preparation for weapon system sustainment requirements. The role also involves finding technical and data-driven solutions and evaluating and recommending engineering, CM, and Data Management tools. The analyst will apply configuration management practices to evolving technical program baselines and ensure configuration items are correct, complete, and consistent with technical and programmatic requirements. The position involves extensive interaction with Government National Team stakeholders, including government, Prime Contractor, and National Labs personnel, and with working groups across systems engineering, hardware and software engineering, and logistics. The analyst will track system development, product design changes, and their effects on the overall system; ensure configuration identification; prepare and process changes and documentation; facilitate change review boards; help structure and maintain databases; and generate configuration status reports and configuration verification audit records. The role includes conducting configuration audits, including Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), and establishing and maintaining Functional, Allocated, and Product baselines for assigned systems and subsystems. The analyst will coordinate with logistics, engineering, and program management teams to ensure configuration changes are reflected in technical data packages (TDPs). The position must be based in Crane, Indiana; Huntsville, Alabama; or Washington, DC, and requires regular access to classified information. A hybrid schedule with some telework is available when the employee is not needed at the customer site.
