About The Position

The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Catering Manager to join their team and help create exceptional events and memorable experiences for their members, guests, and clients. The Catering Manager is responsible for selling, planning, coordinating, and executing catering and special events while ensuring exceptional service, member satisfaction, and financial success. This position serves as the primary contact for clients throughout the planning process and works closely with all resort departments to ensure seamless event execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of catering, conference services, event planning, or hospitality sales experience required.
  • Computer proficiency and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, banquet operations, and event planning.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sell, coordinate, and execute catering events, weddings, social functions, and corporate meetings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning and execution process.
  • Develop Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate event details to all operating departments.
  • Conduct site tours, respond to inquiries, and actively pursue new business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, members, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Coordinate rental equipment, event logistics, timelines, and special requests.
  • Attend planning meetings and ensure event details are communicated accurately and on time.
  • Monitor event guarantees, staffing needs, and operational requirements.
  • Provide on-site event management to ensure exceptional execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Drive revenue through menu enhancement recommendations, upselling opportunities, and exceptional client service.
  • Maintain accurate records and utilize department systems to manage event details and client communications.
  • Support departmental leadership with payroll review, staff development, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
