About The Position

Sunland Asphalt, a rapidly growing construction company in the southwest, is seeking a Concrete Repair and Maintenance Technician for the Phoenix Market. This role is crucial for performing waterproofing, epoxy coatings, caulking, pedestrian and traffic coatings, and concrete structural repairs. The technician will be responsible for a variety of physical tasks, including general labor, carpentry, and the use of power and hand tools as dictated by specific job requirements. Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience is preferred.
Fluency in English, i.e., ability to speak, read and write English is preferred.
A valid driver's license and a clean motor-vehicle record preferred.
Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
Must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
Ability to read printed materials, signs and directions.
Stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions.
Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
Ability to operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Performs waterproofing, epoxy coatings, caulking, pedestrian and traffic coatings, and concrete structural repairs.
Performs general labor, carpentry, and uses power and hand tools as defined by each job/project.
Follows direction, works productively and safely to meet production goals.
Undertakes all aspects of Structural Concrete Repair and waterproofing work including but not limited to shoring, lifting, form setting foam and epoxy injection, hand packing and finishing, chipping, grinding, caulking, joint and surface inspection and preparation, and installation of epoxy and polyurethane coatings.
Undertakes aspects of Expansion and Deck Joint Repair including demolition preparation, and installation.
Acts as an advocate for SAFETY, follows safety policies and procedures, and actively participates in job-site and safety meetings and all Company related training to ensure the job-site is safe and traffic is controlled prior to commencing work.
Conducts pre/post trip inspections if driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Operates trucks to transport equipment to and from production sites and assists in the maintenance of all equipment.
Inspects, cleans, and maintains equipment and machinery.
Reports problems and malfunctioning equipment and/or machinery to supervisor and/or shop personnel.
May set up and tear down equipment.
Maintains a clean job site; picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day.
Understands material handling and storage in compliance with SDS sheets.
Serves as a front-line Company representative and provides excellent service to the customer and the public.
Uses small equipment and/or an assortment of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc.
Performs all other general labor work as needed.
Performs any and all other duties assigned.
