This role is for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Phoenix, Arizona, within a food manufacturing facility.

Requirements

• Completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
• Successful completion and qualifying scoring on Ramsay Maintenance Skills Assessment.
• 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience.
• Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
• Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
• Experience reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Ability to work within an integrated operating enterprise.
• Ability to manage priorities and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to perform calibrations, installation and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to work a variable schedule.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Ability to perform mechanical work, valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, lube routes.
• Must be able to walk and stand for a prolonged period of time.
• Must be able to use hands, arms, and fingers to handle, feel, and reach.
• Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to climb or balance.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair any issues which may arise during production.
• Restore, repair, rebuild, or replace faulty or inoperative components and parts.
• Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and packaging machines.
• Inspect and examine machinery (conveyors, packers, seasoners, sensors) to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
• Perform maintenance tasks according to work orders (cleaning, lubrication, etc.).
• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
• Perform good troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment break downs.
• Find solutions to different problems and complexities.
• Adapt and learn quickly to problems.
• Operate in a high-pressure environment.
• Perform daily maintenance and repairs needed in the production area.
• Follow safety and food safety protocols.
• Stay on call for emergency repairs of production equipment.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
