About The Position

S&W Ready Mix Concrete, a wholly owned subsidiary of Titan America LLC, is hiring a Concrete Plant Supervisor for its Southport, North Carolina location. The position directs and manages ready-mix concrete plant operations, with responsibility for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and related activities. The supervisor ensures compliance with standards, policies, and regulations for safe, environmentally sound production of quality concrete products. The supervisor oversees plant employees and drivers in production and delivery; supports product quality and customer service; coordinates material inventories and deliveries; and ensures deliveries are prompt, safe, and efficient. The role also operates the ready-mix batch plant using an automated computerized batching system, inspects facilities and equipment, addresses maintenance issues, prepares business paperwork, and helps control plant costs. The supervisor manages employee performance and approved disciplinary procedures and maintains working relationships with coworkers and outside agencies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least five years of prior experience in ready-mix concrete.
Thorough knowledge of automated batch plant operation.
Must have, or be able to obtain as soon as possible and no later than one year after hire, ACI Level I Field Testing Technician certification and North Carolina DOT Batch Certification.
Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment supervising hourly employees, including directing, training, counseling, and disciplining them.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products.
Must be able to climb conveyor belts for maintenance.

Responsibilities

Oversee plant employees and drivers in production and delivery.
Ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and service.
Maintain adequate inventories to meet customer needs.
Schedule material deliveries based on information from the Dispatch office and customer needs.
Ensure deliveries are made promptly, safely, and efficiently.
Maintain a safe workplace in accordance with company policies and OSHA guidelines.
Follow applicable company, state, local, environmental, and safety rules and regulations, and ensure direct reports do the same.
Operate the ready-mix batch plant using an automated computerized batching system.
Inspect plant facilities, equipment, and ready-mix units to ensure maintenance, housekeeping, truck-cleaning, and safety standards are met.
Troubleshoot and resolve plant maintenance problems to support efficient and reliable operations.
Prepare and ensure the accuracy of paperwork from daily business; occasionally handle customer cash sales in accordance with established practices and policy.
Ensure employees work efficiently and consistently with company policies and guidelines.
Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and personnel from outside agencies.
Control and minimize plant costs while providing a consistent quality product.
Manage corporately approved disciplinary procedures for drivers and operators assigned to the plant.
Perform other duties as assigned.
