About The Position

AR Utilities & Excavation LLC is hiring an experienced Concrete Form Setter for commercial and civil concrete construction projects in San Antonio, TX, and surrounding areas. The role involves laying out, building, setting, bracing, and stripping concrete forms while maintaining proper elevations, grades, slopes, dimensions, and alignment. The successful candidate will work independently and with a crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and accurately. Work may include forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, foundations, equipment pads, and other concrete structures. The employee may also install reinforcement materials and assist with concrete placement, screeding, finishing, and curing as needed. The position is full-time, with competitive pay based on experience and skill level. Overtime and occasional weekends may be required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of concrete form-setting experience is preferred.
Experience with commercial, civil, or site concrete construction.
Ability to read construction plans and understand grades and elevations.
Proficiency with measuring tapes, laser levels, and standard construction tools.
Knowledge of concrete forming techniques and construction practices.
Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors.
Dependability, punctuality, and ability to work well with others.
Reliable transportation to designated job sites.
Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends when required.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver's license preferred.
Experience with concrete curb and gutter construction.
Experience with sidewalks, driveways, and commercial flatwork.
Experience with concrete foundations and equipment pads.
Experience with civil and underground utility construction.
Experience operating skid steers, compactors, and other small construction equipment.
Experience leading a small concrete crew.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
Lay out, build, set, brace, and strip concrete forms.
Set forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, foundations, equipment pads, and other concrete structures.
Establish and maintain proper grades, elevations, slopes, and dimensions.
Use laser levels, string lines, measuring equipment, and other construction layout tools.
Install reinforcement materials, including rebar and wire mesh, as needed.
Assist with concrete placement, screeding, finishing, and curing when necessary.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
Inspect formwork for accuracy, stability, and proper alignment before concrete placement.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Work with foremen, superintendents, and crew members to meet project schedules.
