About The Position

The Foreman will guide, assign, schedule and supervise the work of staff to ensure production goals. This role involves overseeing crew members to ensure quality of work is performed in a timely manner, determining project requirements and procedures, and the required materials and workers based on project specifications. The Foreman will also resolve problems to achieve production goals, conduct audits and quality assurance tests, set forms, and work with HR and leadership to implement disciplinary steps. Additionally, the role requires operating equipment and tools, identifying and recommending solutions, leading morning huddles, conducting continuous improvement and team development, and setting a safety example by following safety guidelines and ensuring all crew members follow safety standards. The Foreman will perform other related duties as assigned/needed, up to and including all laborer duties.

Requirements

  • Expert in all laborer duties
  • Thorough understanding of construction trades and understanding of materials, methods, and tools used
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Strong ability to read blueprints
  • Strong ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and problem solve
  • Strong ability to remain flexible in job hours worked as specific assignments change
  • Strong ability to work with a variety of personalities and treat everyone with respect
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings
  • Strong ability to read a tape measure and above average math skills
  • Willing to learn, develop, coach and train
  • Strong understanding of plumb, level, and straight edge, layout, and hand tools
  • 6+ years construction experience
  • Task Lead experience
  • Valid driver’s license or State ID
  • Equipment certifications for skid steers or forklifts (Thompson will train if necessary)
  • CPR and First Aid (Thompson will train if necessary)
  • 10-hour OSHA certification
  • 30-hour OSHA certification
  • Tape measure
  • Hammer
  • Utility knife
  • Pliers
  • Tool belt (capable of holding screws, nails, hammer, pliers, tape measure, and utility belt)
  • Clothes with no large holes or cut offs for varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned/needed up to and including all laborer duties
