About The Position

APAC Central Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to independently read project plans and specifications, form, pour, and finish concrete on construction and paving projects. The role involves working on varied projects as part of a team in a dynamic, safety-focused environment. The position is primarily outdoors and may require travel to remote job sites, as well as night and weekend work when necessary. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered to qualified applicants.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Demonstrated experience reading plans and independently forming, pouring, and finishing concrete on construction projects.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
Strictly adhere to company safety requirements and procedures and applicable OSHA/MSHA regulations.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Willingness to travel and work at remote job sites as required.
Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Ability to use construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively in both formats.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and holding materials, tools, and supplies; some loads may exceed 100 pounds with assistance.
Must use required personal protective equipment, including a face shield, hard-toe safety shoes, and safety vest.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required.
Previous related experience in the construction field.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and using appropriate tools and equipment.
Read and interpret project plans and specifications independently.
Form, pour, and finish concrete to grade, providing a fine finish on different types of concrete work.
Use floats, trowels, screeds, templates, hand shovels, motorized tamps, push brooms, and straight edges safely and confidently.
Follow managers’ directions for daily tasks and project-specific expectations.
Perform other assigned duties and transfer between tasks as project needs require.
Assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required.
