About The Position

MasTec Civil, a MasTec Company, is looking for skilled Concrete Finishers to join their team in Mobile, Al. A Concrete Finisher is a craft hourly-rated employee who can expertly pour, level, and smooth concrete on a variety of surfaces including roads, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and floors. He may also be required to set the forms that hold the concrete in place, patch existing surfaces, cut expansion joints, and monitor the curing of the concrete to ensure a high-quality finish. Requirements

• 1-year construction related experience (concrete work and finishing)
• Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred
• Familiarity with the latest concrete pouring technology
• Ability to work shifts, if necessary, over weekends, and at night
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time, work on his knees, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in high heat and cold weather

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of setting, maintaining, and operating a Bid Well Bridge Paver Machine

Responsibilities

• Setting forms that hold the concrete in place and remove them accurately once the concrete is set.
• Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues.
• Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver or pump operator.
• Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. This includes handheld tools and power tool versions.
• Monitoring the effects of the weather on the curing process.
• Applying sealing, curing, and hardening components.
• Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted.
• Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
• Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.
• Removing existing concrete using grinders, electric chipping hammers or heavy-duty pneumatic jack hammers.
• Knowledge of setting, maintaining, and operating a Bid Well Bridge Paver Machine is highly appreciated.
