About The Position

This role involves assisting Concrete Finishers and Cement Masons in various tasks related to concrete placement and finishing. Responsibilities include preparing materials, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The position requires the ability to work on uneven terrain, at heights, and with precision using hand and power tools.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months industrial construction experience.
Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain with / without tools and building materials.
Ability to stand or walk on rebar mats (narrow surfaces).
Ability to climb ladders or stairs and work at heights.
Safe dexterous use of hand tools.
Safely operates power tools and equipment.
Adherence to all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Communicates with Concrete Finishers and others to perform job tasks.
Mixes grout, using a drill or concrete mixing machine.
Flags concrete trucks, collects tickets, and verifies correct mix designs are being placed.
Removes rough or defective spots from concrete using a grinder, hammer, and / or chisel.
Wets and rubs concrete with an abrasive stone to impart the appropriate finish.
Screeds, floats, and trowels poured concrete floors, walls, and sidewalks to specified textures using hand tools or power tools.
Directs concrete to the forms and spreads it to a specified depth and workable consistency.
Molds expansion joints and edges using jointers, straight edge, and edging tools.
Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools and equipment.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Safely traverses uneven terrain with / without tools and building materials.
Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.
Safely operates power tools and equipment.
Stands or walks on rebar mats (narrow surfaces).
Climbs ladders or stairs and works at heights.
Adheres to all safety procedures.
