Concrete Construction Laborer
About The Position
DBA Construction is seeking a full-time Concrete Construction Laborer to support concrete crews on heavy civil work across the Phoenix, AZ area. This entry-level role exists to keep production moving by providing hands-on support during concrete operations. You’ll start early, check in with the crew, and get set up for the day’s concrete work—staging tools, materials, and protective equipment. As conditions shift, you’ll move between active work areas, stay alert around equipment and traffic control, and keep communication tight with your foreman. Breaks and pace are shaped by the pour schedule, weather, and jobsite needs. You’ll wrap up by cleaning up the area, organizing tools for the next shift, and heading out ready for the next location or start time.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of concrete placement/finishing/curing
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work outdoors in physical conditions
- Reliable attendance; available for early mornings, overtime, and changing job schedules
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration Document
- Attention to detail and follow directions
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
- Must have own transportation to various work sites within the state of Arizona
- Must have own finishing tools
- Steel boots are required
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures
- Must have own nail bags and tools for forming and finishing
Nice To Haves
- Concrete/construction experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Assisting with forming, pouring, spreading, spreading, leveling, and finishing concrete
- Handling basic placement, finishing, and curing tasks
- Using hand tools (shovels, rakes, screeds, floats, trowels)
- Maintaining a clean work zone
- Following all safety procedures and direction from Foremen and Finishers
- Staging tools, materials, and protective equipment
- Staying alert around equipment and traffic control
- Keeping communication tight with your foreman
- Cleaning up the area
- Organizing tools for the next shift
