About The Position

Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking a Concrete + Carpenter Laborer to join our Heavy Civil Division. This position supports the successful completion of heavy highway, industrial, and commercial construction projects by performing a variety of concrete, carpentry, pipe, and general labor duties. Responsibilities include assisting with the construction of roads, drainage systems, utilities, structures, and other infrastructure improvements while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working effectively in a team environment under varying weather and job site conditions.

Requirements

At a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in concrete construction, carpentry, pipe installation, heavy civil construction, or general construction is preferred.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
Basic math and measuring skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
Positive attitude and strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

Perform general heavy civil construction labor duties
Assist with the construction, installation, bracing, and removal of concrete forms for footings, walls, slabs, curbs, sidewalks, drainage structures, and other concrete components.
Assist with concrete placement, finishing, curing, and related construction activities.
Assist with pipe installation, drainage structures, utility work, trench preparation, backfilling, and compaction activities.
Perform general labor duties including shoveling, grading, site preparation, material handling, traffic control support, and jobsite cleanup.
Assist with reinforcing steel placement, anchor bolts, embeds, and other structural components.
Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout the project site.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment as assigned.
Work in and around trenches, excavations, concrete operations, and active construction zones.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Other duties as assigned.
