The Concrete Laborer is responsible for assisting with various tasks in concrete construction, including mixing, pouring, spreading, and finishing concrete. The role involves physical labor and the ability to operate equipment and tools to prepare surfaces, pour concrete, and ensure quality control for construction projects. Concrete Laborers work closely with other construction workers to ensure the completion of tasks safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials, standing, kneeling, bending, and operating equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in construction or working with concrete is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete on floors, foundations, sidewalks, and other structures.
  • Ensure proper surface preparation by setting forms, leveling, and grading work areas.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as wheelbarrows, concrete mixers, floats, trowels, and screeds to finish surfaces.
  • Help with smoothing and finishing the surface of poured concrete using finishing tools, hand or power trowels.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris, tools, and unused materials.
