About The Position

The Concrete Batch Operator executes plant processes and responds urgently to operational issues regarding Plant Safety, Quality, and Productivity. This role also involves cross-training and driving a mixer truck when needed. The operator is responsible for ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained through daily execution of preventative maintenance processes. They will manage inventory replenishment processes to support production requirements, ensuring materials are properly protected from environmental contaminants and storage is free from cross-contamination. The operator must inform the Plant Manager of system failures and process problems that impact the ability to meet customer requirements and accurately record and report production data in a timely manner. Additionally, the role involves producing quality product during mixing and delivery, ensuring compliance with work instructions and monitoring quality in cooperation with CSC Quality Technicians and other quality inspectors. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • NCDOT Field & Batch Certified.
  • 5 years’ experience in concrete mixing & delivery processes.
  • Experience with Field Inspection and Concrete Batching Certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute processes & recommend improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (communicate well at all levels in the organization).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access truck equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and remain active for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, kneel, and crouch as needed.
  • Ability to use hands and arms for equipment handling.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings, including sounds, movement, and visual details.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety Requirements, including performing to, monitoring, and enforcing compliance with all 5S and Standard Work specifications, and directing concrete drivers and loader operators during the production of concrete.
  • Maintain Plant Equipment, Facilities, and Mixer Trucks by ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained through daily execution of preventative maintenance processes.
  • Manage Inventory Replenishment Processes to support production requirements, ensuring materials are properly protected from environmental contaminants and storage is free from cross-contamination.
  • Monitor and Report Performance of Daily Activities, informing the Plant Manager of system failures and process problems that impact the ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Accurately Record and Report Production Data in a Timely Manner by completing daily recording and reporting activities as defined in work instructions.
  • Produce Quality Product During Mixing and Delivery by ensuring compliance with work instructions and monitoring quality in cooperation with CSC Quality Technicians and other quality inspectors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
