About The Position

The Concessions Cashier is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through the accurate, efficient, and courteous processing of food and beverage orders at concession stands and portable outlets throughout Amerant Bank Arena. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Reporting to the Concessions Supervisor, this is a part-time, event-based position within the Food and Beverage Department. Scheduled hours vary in accordance with the arena event calendar.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Demonstrated proficiency or ability to quickly learn point-of-sale (POS) systems in a fast-paced setting
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and consistency
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with team members, supervisors, and guests
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and departmental excellence
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and develop professionally within the organization
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable in consistently meeting the demands of an event-driven schedule
  • Schedule flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on hard arena surfaces throughout each event
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs., including product cases, ice bags, and supply crates
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required during setup, stocking, and breakdown activities
  • Ability to navigate stairs and traverse large arena concourses independently and efficiently
  • Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level is generally high, crowd traffic is heavy, ambient temperatures are variable — usually cold, with occasional warm or humid conditions during summer events — and lights are bright or dark with occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics
  • Valid responsible alcohol service certification (TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol) — required prior to first event
  • Food handler certification — required prior to first event

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service or cashier experience in a hospitality or high-volume retail environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all guests in a warm, professional, and hospitable manner, creating a positive and memorable experience at every interaction
  • Process food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently using the designated point-of-sale (POS) system, maintaining speed of service standards during high-volume periods
  • Expedite guest food orders promptly at concession stands and portable outlets, ensuring timely delivery in alignment with guest expectations
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and applicable allergen information, to respond confidently to guest inquiries
  • Assist guests with navigating the arena as needed, demonstrating thorough familiarity with the venue layout
  • Assist with pre-event setup, including stocking product, organizing supply areas, and preparing stand and prep stations for service
  • Complete all station breakdown and closing responsibilities in a thorough and timely manner at the conclusion of each event
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards within the concession stand throughout the duration of each event
  • Practice proper product control, inventory management, and careful handling of all equipment to minimize waste and prevent loss
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to uphold food and beverage quality and presentation standards at all times
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the Concessions Supervisor or management
  • Adhere to all applicable Health Department food safety and sanitation regulations throughout each event
  • Execute responsible alcohol service practices in strict compliance with Florida law and organizational policy
  • Support other Food & Beverage departments as operationally needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management in support of event-day operations
