About The Position

The Concessions Bar Back is responsible for receiving liquor, beer, and wine from the storeroom and replenishing these items at the bar throughout the shift. This role also involves retrieving food and beverage items, setting up bottles, ensuring beer taps are functional, stocking bar snacks and supplies, assisting with opening and closing duties, bussing tables, maintaining the cleanliness of bar areas, removing rubbish, and preparing/serving beverages as needed to assist the bartender. The position is event-based and requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, including all Hawks home games.

Requirements

• Desire to gain experience and work in the foodservice or hospitality industry.
• Ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing an exceptional experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
• Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
• Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods of time throughout the day.
• Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous bar knowledge is a plus.
• An outgoing personality is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom on a daily basis and as needed.
• Replenishes all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar throughout the shift.
• Retrieves all needed food items from kitchen and delivers to bar area.
• Retrieves all needed beverage items and garnishes from storerooms and delivers to bar area.
• Sets up bottles on bar with 'top shelf' liquor on back shelf.
• Ensures beer taps are working properly.
• Places appropriate bar snacks on counter; keeps supplies, such as snacks and napkins, stocked throughout shift.
• Assists in opening and closing side work as assigned.
• Buses tables in bar area.
• Helps ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas; washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and floors under equipment; sweeps and mops service areas, including floor mats.
• Ensures rubbish is removed from all receptacles.
• Prepares and serves beverages as needed to assist bartender.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
