About The Position

The Concession Worker greets and interacts with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; works with various types of food, replenishes supplies and performs cashing duties; provides routine support duties to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment. This role delivers superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards. The Concession Worker assumes responsibility for greeting and interacting with guests, working with food and refreshments, replenishing supplies, and performing cashing duties. They assist guests with order requests, fill orders correctly, and correct incorrect orders professionally. The role involves opening and closing outlets according to procedures, ensuring sanitation, and protecting company assets. Additionally, the Concession Worker inspects areas for safety and maintenance needs, monitors and maintains supplies, participates in serving and packaging food, operates a cashier machine, and notifies management of suspicious activity. The role also requires attending professional meetings and staying aware of new trends in customer service.

Requirements

  • Some experience to effectively perform the position duties.
  • At least two (2) months on the job training in a snack bar or similar food service experience.
  • Must be able to obtain all Regulatory licenses that are required.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, Friday and Saturday nights, and holidays if needed.
  • Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of a customer service and concession operation.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of cashiering and denominations of currency.
  • Knowledge of methods of snack bar operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety and rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of cleaning standards and customer service.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to receive orders, carry food orders, stock supplies, and bus tables.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment which includes a slicer, meat scale, cash register, coffee machine, microwave, steamer, hot dog roaster, beverage dispenser, grill, and shake machine.
  • Ability to receive monies and make change.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings.
  • Maintain awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of customer service.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
