About The Position

The City of Hanford is seeking to fill 12 Part-Time Concession Attendant vacancies in the Recreation and Community Services Department. Under the general supervision of the Sports Coordinator, the Concession Attendant performs a variety of food service, customer service, and cash handling duties in support of Recreation and Community Services concession operations. This position is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing excellent customer service to patrons throughout various department locations.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and provide a workers' permit through school.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in food service or customer service.
  • Experience handling cash or operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Current Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or currently attending high school.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license may be required, depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve concession food and beverage items in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Operate cash registers and handle cash, credit, and digital transactions accurately.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to patrons of all ages.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of concession areas, including counters, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Restock food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to supervisors.
  • Work cooperatively with staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
