Carrier is seeking an Application Engineer to join its Airside Solutions team, supporting the commercial applied data center air handling product line. This position is based in Montreal. As part of the Application Engineering team, you will collaborate closely with product management, the commercial sales organization, and cross‑functional engineering teams to support customer needs and business growth. You will play a key role in providing technical expertise during the pre‑sales phase, helping to develop tailored equipment solutions, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of products and systems. This role is well suited for a motivated and detail‑oriented professional who is passionate about engineering, innovation, and delivering high‑quality solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / building engineering / interdisciplinary engineering.
  • 3+ years experience with HVAC product support, sales engineering or consulting engineering.
  • 3+years experience in AHU design, using AutoCad, Revit or Solidworks.
  • 3+years experience in commercial - applications engineering support.
  • Fluent verbal communication in both languages (French and English).

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years experience in commercial HVAC sales, consulting engineering or product support
  • Experience with commercial air handling unit products and applications
  • Product marketing experience in a technical environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Technical understanding of HVAC systems, including system design, building and energy codes, system operation, refrigeration systems, fans, electrical and control systems, and psychrometric processes.
  • Well-developed analytical thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving skills. Ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, develop conclusions, and propose solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, teamwork, responsibility, dependability, flexibility, motivation, respect, and patience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Competency in business fundamentals, strong math skills, experience with SAP
  • Well-developed organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and self-direct with multiple activities and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales of custom Air Handling products by providing accurate and timely responses to presales technical inquiries and by assisting with equipment selections by reviewing specifications, design documents, equipment schedules, and application criteria.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical sales material, including submittal product data, technical manuals, product bulletins, marketing brochures, application guides, technical presentations, and sales presentations.
  • Perform presentations of sales and training material at sales offices, customer events, industry gatherings, and through webinars and recorded sessions.
  • Process customer engineered to order (ETO) request by working across multiple disciplines to review, document, and generate pricing for customer requests.
  • Work with product managers to perform competitive and market analysis, collect sales office and customer feedback for assigned products.
  • Assist with planning and implementing product updates, new product releases and provide critical input for the development of product roadmaps.
  • Maintain selection software and pricing systems, work across multiple disciplines to implement corrections, updates, and new product releases in the selection software and pricing systems.
