This position offers a flexible schedule with no nights, no weekends, and no holidays. The CT Technologist performs CT scans as ordered and according to established protocols, ensuring attention to anatomy per ACR criteria. They screen patients for medical history and contraindications for IV contrast, obtain consent, initiate IV sites, administer contrast, and observe for reactions. The technologist selects appropriate techniques, positions patients correctly, and reviews scans for pathology with the Radiologist before patient discharge (with exceptions for non-contrasted procedures when the radiologist is not present). They explain procedures to patients and families, answer questions, and provide comfort and privacy. The role involves generating a positive, teamwork-oriented atmosphere, performing quality assurance duties, completing charges, and communicating with other departments and referring offices. Safety is paramount, with adherence to radiation protection rules and universal precautions. The technologist assists in other modalities as needed, maintains continuing education credits (at least 12/year, 24 in 2 years, with half in CT/CPR), and upholds professional appearance and confidentiality. They maintain a clean and stocked work area, provide input for equipment/supply purchases, and communicate malfunctions. Additionally, they assemble oral contrast packages, educate patients on usage, and consult on pre-medication. The work environment is a busy office setting with frequent contact with employees and patients, in an outpatient setting with no weekends, nights, call, or holidays. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and regularly sit, stand, and reach with hands and arms, frequently using hands to handle and feel equipment.
