About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. The role involves providing for patient care and initiating life support measures as necessary. The CT Technologist interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers. They possess the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans, perform related procedures and protocols, and learn and utilize new technology. The role also includes orienting new employees and professionally obtaining information from patients or their responsible parties to improve personalized treatment and care. The CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status and works well with all age groups. Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, basic diagnostic radiology tasks, and be aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Requirements

Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program is required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required at the time of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Nice To Haves

Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience preferred.
Per Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements, CT certification obtained within two years is preferred.
If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.
If working in Aberdeen, South Dakota (SD), CT certification is required within 24 months of hire.
In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa.
