This position performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. The role involves providing for patient care and initiating life support measures as necessary. The CT Technologist interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers. They possess the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans, perform related procedures and protocols, and learn and utilize new technology. The role also includes orienting new employees and professionally obtaining information from patients or their responsible parties to improve personalized treatment and care. The CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status and works well with all age groups. Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, basic diagnostic radiology tasks, and be aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.
